Great little wine cooler August 20, 2008 E. Auyang (Chicago) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Holds 8 bottles nicely. I have had mine for over a month now and have it set to 55 deg. It ranges from 55-58. Compact size, great price, and the digital temp setting is key. Highly recommend.
Great cooler, great bargain! June 22, 2008 M. Piccirillo (Encino, CA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Picked this up for $79.95...so far it is working GREAT! It achieved its goal temperature in a matter of a few hours.
I recently purchased Cuisinart's wine chiller and after being plugged in for a week, it still did not hit the temperature it was supposed to! It's a relatively quiet machine too.
This is a great deal, especially if you are an Amazon PRIME member!
One Word of Warning June 13, 2008 Dean W. Barickman (Ottawa, Illinois USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
While I totally agree with the previous reviewer, I would give to potential buyers one word of warning. Be certain that you have enough free counter space if you intend to place this item on a kitchen counter. Manufacturer's recommendation is that you have at least a 6" space behind this unit and any wall behind it...and that you have at least a 4" space on either side of the unit. This is information you would only discover after its delivery and that might cause you to have to change your original plans for its location.
Works well. April 21, 2008 R. Moroney (Indiana) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have had this cooler for four months and have been very impressed with it's performance ever since the first use. The cooler takes 4 bottles of wine from room temperature down to 55 deg within a few hours.
I researched proper temps for my red wine and the consensus on the web seems to be 55, give or take 5 degrees. So I have the unit set to 57 degrees, and the temperature usually only drifts from the setpoint by +/- 1 degree.
(Added notes: occasionally we will shut off the AC in the house when no one is home for an extended period. When the house is very warm, like 86 degrees, the wine cooler interior will rise to about 60 deg. Which I feel is still a "safe" range for my wine.)
I have a couple of the taller wine bottles that measure 13" tall. The door closes fully and there is still almost 1/2" to spare.
It runs very quietly, you can just barely hear the fan if there is no other noise in the room. The glow from the display is amazingly bright, it literally lights up the entire room at night. On the other hand the blue interior LED light is just the opposite, it barely lights up the interior. More of a mood light, I guess.
The controls are intuitve, one button for raising the temp, one button to lower it, and the interior light button. Press either up or down and you'll see your setpoint flash on the display for 5 seconds, then the display returns to normal display of the interior temperature.
This unit is a steal at $80 including delivery!!
